Everything was well enough during our stay here. It was clean and well managed. The only problem we had was our next door neighbor had a pit bull in his room that did not care for our two small dogs and tried to get at them every time they went out. that of course is not the Motels fault, it was just the luck of the draw, the hotel was pet friendly and had a great staff. We will stay again next time we are in Chaska.
Assistant manager, Kevin, goes out of his way to be helpful and while for the current condition is accurately priced among the budget accommodations I really could see this as a boutique hotel if ownership invested in a little refurbishment.
I booked a wedding block with this hotel last year. I booked blocks for 2 different nights and was told that I would receive a complimentary room each night for doing the block. I was also told that there would be a complimentary shuttle (my sister had her wedding block at this same hotel the previous summer and that's what was offered to her). After I booked the blocks, the hotel changed ownership. When I called about a month out from my wedding (because I was told that I wouldn't receive a contract with them until rooms had been booked through my wedding block), I was told that I hadn't booked enough rooms on one of the nights to qualify for a free night stay that night (even though I had asked when I booked the block whether I needed to fill a certain number of rooms for the block to get a free night and was told that there wasn't a minimum that I needed to meet). I was also told that the shuttle was no longer complimentary and would cost $150 for the night. I ended up making different arrangements for the one night I didn't get a free room. The night of the wedding, I maybe got 2 hours of sleep because the mini-fridge in the room was making an obnoxious sound and the AC was ridiculously loud when it kicked on. I would not recommend anyone booking a wedding block at this hotel ever. Too much stress when you're already dealing with planning a wedding.
Clearly the hotel must have had a glorious heyday, the warm welcoming hardwood staircase and paneling still look beautiful, but the overall condition, could do with a little TLC.
The most outstanding feature at this hotel, is the poeple who work there, they're willing to go the extra mile to improve guest experience.
Nice little excercise room, pool heater was not up to par and the hot tum out of commission.
Stayed at this hotel back in February and it has gotten better since then. Kids were happy that the pool was working. The rooms are clean but the carpeting throughout the building needs cleaning or replacement. The morning breakfast was pretty good. Coffee, juice, milk, toast, muffins, cereal and waffles with waffle iron was provided. All in all it was not the best but I hope that it does improve with time. Staff at the place were very friendly. Will probably stay there again because we have some family in the area. Don't know if other hotels are in the area.
Despite some reviews, we enjoyed our New Year's Eve stay at the Norwood In and Suites in Chaska. The hotel was very clean, although worn. Kevin at the front desk was hospitable, professional, courteous, friendly and very customer-centered. I would have given a 5 but the hot tub was out of order and the breakfast was bread, bagels, apples, oranges and 2 kinds of cereal. We would stay again!
